Distance learning involves learning 'at a distance' rather than face-to-face in a classroom setting. It is a flexible yet effective way of learning that will particularly suit you if you have a busy lifestyle, or if (for whatever reason) you are unable to travel in order to pursue your studies. As a student you can be based almost anywhere in the world. You receive all your course material by post and can choose to keep in touch with your tutor either by post or by email. Besides allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home, distance learning means that you can begin your studies at any time of year. Equally important, you can study at your own pace. Being in control of your own timetable allows you to spend more time on some areas of your coursework whilst moving quickly through others. Distance learning methods have been successfully used for many years to help
students from a wide range of backgrounds and with a variety of motivations to achieve goals that might otherwise have been impossible. TOP^ Distance learning is a much more flexible and convenient option than attending a course at a local college or centre. You can study when you like. You can work at your own pace. All the necessary course material will be sent to you by post. Lessons are clearly set out and everything is thoroughly explained. New skills and techniques are illustrated using examples and step by step guides. There are frequent self revision sections and reminders. At regular intervals you will submit assignments to your tutor for feedback. Our free guide to distance learning
will give you plenty of useful study hints and tips. TOP^ Most of our courses are open to anyone. The course details will tell you if any special skills or experience are needed but
usually enthusiasm and commitment is all that we expect! TOP^ No. All your tuition material is contained in your course pack and will be supplemented by your tutor's feedback. Of course,
you may want to read around the subject. Your tutor will be happy to recommend any additional reading. TOP^
Your tutor will be very experienced in the subject you are studying and will be commited to helping you develop your own skills and knowledge. At regular intervals during your course you will need to submit marked assignment papers (MAP's) to your tutor . These will be returned to you within 21 days, together with a report containing comments and feedback, as well as hints and tips for your future development. Tutor reports are regularly monitored to ensure that high standards are maintained at all times. TOP^ Yes. If you have any difficulties with the course material or your assignments, please feel free to contact your tutor. TOP^ At The Skills College we know that our reputation depends both upon the quality of our course material and our tutor support. We are confident that you will be fully satisfied with your chosen course but if you are not, then you have the benefit and
reassurance of our money back guarantee. TOP^ All course material belongs to you. The course pack will provide a valuable source of reference and inspiration long after you
have completed your studies with The Skills College. TOP^ Depending on the course you choose, if you are a UK student and you are enrolling offline, you may well be to take advantage of
our easy payment option. This involves an initial deposit and subsequent payments by instalments. Unfortunately this option is
not available to overseas students or for self study courses. TOP^ Living outside the UK does not pose a problem. You can study with The Skills College from almost anywhere in the world. For
some courses assignments can be submitted and marked via email. Let us know if you have any specific requirements. In most cases, within 14 days of receipt of your enrolment form and course fee. If it is likely to be longer we will let you know. TOP^ Of course. The sooner you enrol, the sooner you can get started. Click here to move to our enrolment page section. We look forward to welcoming you as a student of The Skills College.
