Q. I haven`t cartooned before. Will I find it difficult ? " The Complete Cartoonist " has been designed with the beginner cartoonist in mind, but has plenty to offer the experienced cartoonist or artist. The cartoon course material takes you from absolute cartoon basics through to advanced techniques, allowing you to learn how to draw high quality cartoons - even if you`ve never cartooned before.
Q. How long does the cartoon course take ? As a rough guide, if you put in about
5 hours a week you should complete the cartoon course in approximately 6 months. Should circumstances slow you down, you will continue to receive tutor support for up to 12 months from the date of enrolment.
Q. How do I know what the standard of the material is like ? At The Skills College we know that our reputation depends upon the
quality of our material and the standard of our tutor support. "The Complete Cartoonist "
has taken over 600 hours of preparation. We are confident that you will be fully satisfied with the cartoon course, but if for any reason you are not, you have the benefit of our money back guarantee
Q. What does my tutor do ? Your tutor will be an experienced cartoonist keen to help you learn how to draw cartoons and develop your own cartoon skills.
At regular intervals during the course you will be asked to submit
marked assignment papers (MAPs) to your tutor. He or she will assess your work and return it to you within 21 days together with a report containing feedback, hints, and tips for your future cartooning development.
Q.
Can I contact my tutor if I have problems with the MAP`s or the course ? Yes.
You can write to your cartoon course tutor at any time or you can contact The Skills College by post or e-mail.
Q. How soon will I be able to try and sell my cartoons ?
As soon as you are satisfied with them. "The Complete Cartoonist" does not provide instruction on selling your
cartoon work. It concentrates on developing your cartoon drawing skills.
We want you to be satisfied with the quality of your cartoon work before
you submit it. This helps prevent unnecessary early rejections which may make you feel disillusioned. If you are confident of your cartooning ability you will be able to market yourself and your cartoons
much more effectively.
If you do want to sell your cartoons there are a wide range of markets
from simple newspaper gag cartoons to brochure design, book illustration, posters, company logos, letterheads etc.
Q. I don`t want to sell my work. Can I cartoon for pleasure ? Of course. The purpose of this cartoon course is to teach you how
to cartoon, whatever your motivation. How you use your skills is entirely up to you.
Q. Do I have to buy any textbooks ? No. All the tuition you need is contained in the cartoon course material. However you will need to buy your own drawing materials, such
as pens, paper, ink etc.
